First Patch For Link's Awakening Available

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has just received its first update patch, an it doesn’t fix what fans may have been hoping it might.

Many have reported some significant slowdown and frame-rate issues when moving around Koholint island, something we also spotted in our review. Developer Grezzo have eschewed the chance to improve some of that in this first update though, instead focusing on a bug fix:

-Fixed an error where certain conditions would cause Marin to stop moving in Toronbo Shores, and the game would lock up.
-Downloading this update will also fix saved games where the error is already in effect.

Fair enough, you don’t want game breaking glitches to ruin the experience for anyone. It’s nice to see this will fix existing save files too, so anyone who’s encountered the problem should now be able to continue their adventure unhindered.

Here’s hoping there’s no other major bugs to squash and Grezzo can drop another update that helps the game run a little more smoothly.

Have you encountered the bug that’s just been patched out? Let us know down in the comments.
