43% Of Switch Lite Buyers Own A Full Switch

There’s been a few tidbits that have come to light following Nintendo’s latest earnings report. We’ve learned that the Switch has almost outsold the Xbox One for example, and that the 3DS looks like it’s being put out to pasture.
Another interesting piece of information is the number of Switch Lite owners who own another version of the system.
According to Nintendo, who have based the stats on Nintendo Accounts which have signed into multiple systems, just under half of Switch Lite owners already own the dockable Switch, with 57% of units going to first-time buyers.
It’s an interesting balance, and elsewhere in the report Nintendo say they plan to continue to position the Lite as both an entry into the ecosystem, and as a second supplementary system for Switch owners who want something more portable.
It doesn’t look like the Lite is cannibalising the main Switch sales either, as the dockable version saw an increase the week the Lite launched, and has continued at a steady pace since. The Lite itself has sold just under 2 million units.
Do you have both a Switch Lite and an OG Switch? Let us know down in the comments.
