Animal Crossing Pocket Camp To Get Subscription Service

Mario Kart Tour has been somewhat divisive, mainly due to what’s seen as overly-aggressive micro-transactions. Chief of those is the Gold Pass subscription service, that gates certain features such as the 200cc mode. Still, people must be buying the thing because Nintendo are now bringing a similar feature to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

The two year old mobile game is getting it’s own paid subscription service. In fact, it’s getting two. They’ve been revealed via an in-game update, although details are a little sparse right now. Still, apparently one service will allow you to appoint one animal as a Camp Caretaker to help you out, while the other will give you added storage space for all your furniture via warehouses.

We’re expecting more details - like pricing - in a couple of days, with the service due to roll out on 21 November.

We’re of the opinion that Pocket Camp actually does micro-transactions really well at the moment. They’re there if you want them, but they’re not intrusive and the game doesn’t pester you to spend money at every turn. Hopefully this new service won’t damage that balance.

Are you still playing Pocket Camp? What do you think about this new subscription service? Let us know down in the comments.
