Switch's Best Selling Fighting Game Isn't Surprising At All

There’s a whole bunch of great fighting games on Switch, and now NPD has revealed which ones are topping the pile in terms of sales. Analyst Mat Piscatella dropped a list of the best selling fighting games across each console on Twitter, and there’s no surprises who topped the Switch chart.

Yep, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is officially the best selling fighting game on Switch. We probably could’ve guessed that mind you, given that it’s the second best selling game on Switch period. The rest of the list makes for interesting reading though.

In second place is Pokken Tournment DX, a game that’s largely lauded but doesn’t seem to get a whole lot of love out there. Similarly, ARMS takes the number three spot - another great game that perhaps doesn’t get the love it deserves.

Interestingly, those top three positions don’t include digital sales numbers, as they’re something Nintendo doesn’t give out all too often. Third party games in the form of Mortal Kombat 11 and Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 finish up in fourth and fifth place respectively.

These are North American numbers of course, so we’d be interested to see if there’s any variation in other regions.

What’s your top pick for fighting games on Switch?
