Nintendo are continuing their foray into the mobile market tomorrow with the release of Mario Kart Tour. The portly plumber and friends are taking to the track on both iOS and Android. You can preload the game now, but you won’t be able to play until it actually goes live. The lights go green at 1am Pacific Time, 4am Eastern, 10am Central and 9am in the UK.
To build the hype for the launch, Nintendo have been conducting a countdown on Twitter, as well as dropping several trailers depicting Toads getting the tracks ready at iconic locations across the globe. The game does feature some classics from the Mario Kart oeuvre too though. The latest trailer had them chasing shells through the streets of Paris. Check it out below:
Karts in the game accelerate automatically, with taps and swipes on the screen determining whether you steer or fire items. There’s also a gacha mechanic in the game, which will reward players with new characters to race as, and new karts to use. It’s free to start, and you can download it from the App Store or the Google Play Store, depending on your device.
Are you looking forward to this one? Let us know down in the comments.
