In a surprise to absolutely nobody, Overwatch - Blizzard’s popular multiplayer team shooter - has officially been announced for Nintendo Switch.

Following on from the leak of a Switch carry case sporting the Overwatch logo at the end of last month, the game got a proper reveal during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. As well as the reveal we were given an official launch date of 15 October.

Not the most surprising announcement given the numerous leaks, but a welcome addition to the Switch’s library nonetheless!

Blizzard have previously released Diablo III on Switch, and the two companies seemed pretty pally around the time too - former NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime was front and center of the reveal video. It’s great to see that relationship has yielded another great release for Switch.
