Atlus Leaks Western Release Date For Persona 5 Strikers
This article was originally written for TheNintendoVillage.com, a website I founded and ran from 2018 to 2021.
Update: It’s now official! The official website has gone live, and Atlus have re-revealed the trailer. Check it out:
Original Story: Persona 5 Strikers dropped in Japan earlier this year and ever since it did, fans in the West have been eagerly anticipating news of an English release. Atlus have remained tight-lipped about any possible localised versions, but it seems they may have just let the cat out of the bag.
As noted by Wario64 over on Twitter, the publisher uploaded a trailer for the musou game to YouTube, before hastily pulling it down:
Many are speculating that the game was due to be shown off at the Game Awards which airs later this month. Given the occasion is often used to drop trailers for upcoming releases (including Joker of Persona 5 fame’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announcement) that’s not beyond the realm of possibility.
The trailer lists the Western release as 23 February next year, which corroborates reports that several Asian retailers had listed an English version of the game for launch on that date.
It looks like it’s all but official now. Fingers crossed we’ll finally have that confirmation from Atlus soon!
