Sakurai: No More DLC After Fighters Pass 2

With the arrival of Byleth we also got some info on the second batch of DLC planned for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Fighters Pass Vol.2 will see six more characters join the fight, but if you were hoping for even more after that, you’re out of luck.

In his new Famitsu column, series Director Masahiro Sakurai has clarified that this second round of extra characters will be the last, with no more DLC planned after that.

Which is fair enough really. Once Fighters Pass Vol.2 is complete there’ll be 86 characters available in-game (if you count Pokémon Trainer as three different fighters), which frankly, is more than enough to keep us going for a looooong time.

It will be nice to see Sakurai work on some other projects once that’s finished, not to mention the fact he’s more than earned a break!

Still, we’ve got plenty of speculation to come about who’ll be joining the fight next. Let us know your picks down in the comments!
