Yacht Club have announced a brand new Shovel Knight spinoff in the form of Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, a new puzzle game featuring the spade-wielding hero.

Unveiled during the latest Yacht Club Games Presents video, the game mixes puzzle and roguelike dungeon crawler elements, with players moving Shovel Knight around the game board, colliding with enemy blocks to exchange damage and chain together attacks and combos.

There’s no word on a release date yet, as the team are apparently still ‘in the thick of development’, but attendees at PAX East will be able to go hands on with a demo of the game if they head over to Yacht Club’s booth.

As well as Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, Yacht Club are apparently working on two other projects, teasing brand new IP that could well be related in some way to rodents - game designer Alec Faulkner made mention of 2020 being the year of the rat during the segment in the presentation.
