Earlier this week, we got a tease of a new collaboration between LEGO and Nintendo, with a Super Mario LEGO set seemingly in the works. Well, the crossover has now officially been revealed and it looks like an entirely new experience for both franchises.
Fans will be able to construct their own interactive Super Mario levels using various LEGO bricks - including all the necessary warp pipes, piranha plants, ? blocks and so on - and use the main Mario figure to interact with the various platforms. You can collect coins and make your way to the goal pole, and Mario will whoop and react to various triggers along the way.
Julia Goldin, Chief Marketing Officer, EVP of the LEGO Group, said:
“We are very excited to bring Mario into the physical world through interactive and social LEGO play. With this experience we will help millions of kids with love for Mario to engage and play in a completely new way, where they are in control of creating and playing games with their favourite character. By seamlessly incorporating the latest digital technology, LEGO Super Mario is a highly social, interactive and collaborative experience for kids.”
We know a few adults who are keen to get their hands on this too…
