Gamescom Release New Statement On Coronavirus Cancellation

More and more events are falling victim to the coronavirus outbreak, with Insomnia and EGX Rezzed here in the UK following in the wake of the likes of GDC and E3 in being cancelled. Thoughts are turning then to Gamescom, but it’s still on for the time being.

Cologne, where the expo takes place, has implemented a ban on any gatherings over 1000 people until the 10 April. Gamescom, however is not scheduled until August, with some expecting the epidemic to peak around May/June. As a result, organisers are proceeding as planned for the time being, but are evaluating the situation daily according to a statement posted on Twitter earlier today:
