Street Fighter Producer Open To More Entries On Switch

Street Fighter fans have a few options on Switch, with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers leading the way not long after the console’s launch, and the 30th Anniversary Collection arriving in 2018. The internet got sent into a bit of frenzy when an erroneous post about Street Fighter V coming to Switch popped up on the EB Games Canada Twitter feed.

That turned out to be a false alarm, but in an interview with US Gamer, the Executive Producer of the series Yoshinori Ono has said the series could well return to Nintendo’s console in the future:

“Since the Switch came out, we’ve released Ultra Street Fighter II and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for that platform. From a business standpoint, these two titles were a success. We are seeing many competitive titles, including Smash Bros, doing well on Switch and players are enjoying those types of experiences on that platform. If there is another opportunity that makes sense for us, we would consider the Switch again. Regarding Street Fighter V, it is currently exclusive to PS4 and PC. However, as mentioned above, we do see Switch as an important platform for all types of games.”

It’s good to hear that the two Street Fighter games Capcom has released on Switch so far have been a success. Hopefully that means any future entries have a shot at appearing on the console too.

Are you hoping for some more Street Fighter action on the Switch in future Let us know down in the comments.
