Switch Lite Helps Propel The Console Past 55 Million Units

As well as some impressive figures for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nintendo’s latest financial report also paints a positive picture for the Switch itself.
Nintendo managed to shift a little over 21 million units over the last financial year, and although the base system under performed slightly compared to the previous 12 months in Japan and America (sales in Europe were higher outside of the holiday season), the Switch Lite saw the console comfortably improve sales figures throughout the year.
The total sales for the console now stand at 55.77 million, making it Nintendo’s third-best selling home console to date. Although it’s a ways off the all-conquering Wii, Nintendo are projecting further sales of 19 million units over the next 12 months, which would see it surpass the combined 61.91 million units managed by the NES and Famicom.
We’ll expect some further information once Nintendo release their investor Q&A tomorrow, so we’ll keep you posted when there’s more to report!
