A New Super Monkey Ball Game Could Be On The Way

Following the HD remaster of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz that hit the Switch (and other systems) last October, the game’s director suggested that if it did well, we could well see a remaster of the first two games or even a brand new entry altogether. Well, it now appears that SEGA are indeed working on another Super Monkey Ball project.
YouTube Matt Robinson has been chatting to Brian Matt - a voice actor living in Tokyo who was the announcer from the first Super Monkey Ball game. He’s revealed that he’s been hired once again by SEGA to work on a new project, and although his non-disclosure agreement prevents him from revealing too much, a few tidbits and reading between the lines seems to confirm that a new Super Monkey Ball is indeed on the way.
We’d recommend watching the full video below, but much of it sounds like there’s going to be some sort of ‘retro’ mode available - suggesting this new project could be a remaster of one of the early games. This is further corroborated by Brian revealing that the game won’t have a number after it, but instead a word along the lines of ‘Retro’.
Have a watch of the video yourselves, and let us know your thoughts down in the comments!
