Ori And The Will Of The Wisps Port 'Difficult' For Switch

Arguably one of the best games to hit Switch last year was the surprise port of Ori and the Blind Forest. Previously an Xbox exclusive, the port was revealed last August before arriving on the system a month later. Since the arrival of the follow-up on Xbox earlier this year, many have been wondering if Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be making the trip over to Switch too.

Well, during a Reddit AMA with developer Moon Studios, the question was asked about a Switch version of Ori’s second outing, with Lead Engineer Gennadiy Korol pouring cold water on the idea for now:

“We love the Switch! But right now we don't have anything to share when it comes to Ori and the Will of the Wisps port. If it were to ever happen though I can tell you that it would be extremely difficult port to make it run at 60fps that's for sure!”

Ori and the Blind Forest famously ran even better on Switch than it managed on Xbox, thanks to all the optimisation the game had gone through over the years and during the porting process - hitting a smooth 60fps when it arrived. It would appear Moon Studios would want to maintain that level of quality with the follow-up should it ever happen.

Have you been holding off on Ori and the Will of the Wisps in the hope of a Switch port? Let us know down in the comments.
