During today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, Nintendo revealed that Puyo Puyo Tetris is getting a sequel, and it’s launching later this year.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will be arriving on Switch on 8 December, and will feature many returning modes that fans will appreciate, including Versus and Party modes. The game also adds a brand new Skill Mode which lets players utilise character-based skills and item cards to turn the tables on opponents.

An expanded online mode will also allow players to spectate matches between 4 other contestants.

The original game was one of the early hits on the Switch and was also one of the first games to get a demo. Here’s hoping we’ll get a free taster of this sequel at some point too! Let us know down in the comments if you’re hyped for this one.
