Sega have revealed that they’re launching a brand new Sonic the Hedghehog ‘Encyclo-speed-ia’ next year in celebration of the blue blur’s 30th anniversary.

Publishing duties are being handled by Dark Horse, who’s previous works include the Hyrule Historia and associated tomes, while Ian Flynn is the author. Fans of IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic will recognise Flynn as the head writer for that publication.

The 256 page book will take a deep dive into the lore and detail and the Sonic universe, as well as obligatory retrospectives of all of Sonic’s games. It launches on 1 June 2021, and can currently be pre-ordered for the princely sum of $49.99 over on Amazon.com.
