The Switch has had its first firmware update since July, with the console’s software now reaching version 10.2.0.
There’s nothing major to write home about with this latest update though, with the sole patch note detailing stability improvements:
General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
However, beneath the hood there does appear to have been a few tweaks made to user nicknames. More specifically, Nintendo have removed the ability to choose certain terms.
Twitter user Akfamilyhome reveals that ‘covid’ can no longer be chosen as a nickname, whilst dataminer Oatmealdome confirms that a number of ‘racially charged’ terms have also been blacklisted.
It’s good to see the Switch is coronavirus free!
