When Is The Next Nintendo Direct?

This article was originally written for TheNintendoVillage.com, a website I founded and ran from 2018 to 2021.

We love a Nintendo Direct. Nintendo’s video announcement reels are always jam-packed with upcoming games and there’s always something to get excited about.

Generally speaking, Nintendo usually drop around three main Directs every 12 months; one at the beginning of the year, one in the middle during E3, and one towards the end of the year.

Those are often supplemented by other Directs though that focus on specific games, announcements or franchises. Dedicated Pokémon Directs have been a regular feature for a couple of years now, Super Smash Bros. Director Masahiro Sakurai has taken to detailing DLC characters in featured presentations, and we’ve also had a number of videos devoted entirely to indie games.

When’s The Next Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo have not currently announced another Nintendo Direct. Development schedules and announcement plans have no doubt been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Stay tuned for any updates!

When Was The Last Nintendo Direct?

We got a release date for Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, as well as the reveal of Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 and an ‘available now’ launch of World of Tanks: Blitz amongst other things.
