Pokémon Sword and Shield File Sizes Revealed

We’re now entering the home stretch of the Pokémon Sword and Shield launch. We’ll be exploring the Galar region in a month’s time, and those who are planning on downloading the game digitally will want to make sure there’s enough space on their microSD cards to store all the new monsters.
Well, Twitter user @MIN428 has shared an image of a retail download card for the game, that apparently shows the file size to be 10.3GB. For context, that’s more than double the size of the Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee games which clocked in at 4.55GB. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes up 14.4GB.
So Galar would appear to be much bigger than Kanto, though not quite as expansive as Hyrule. The file size means it should fit nicely onto the new Pokémon Switch Lite that’s launching alongside the game.
