Riot Games, the developer behind the phenomenon that is League of Legends have announced a new version of the game entitled Wild Rift. The reveal during their 10th anniversary livestream stated that the game was coming to mobile and consoles, but which consoles wasn’t specified.

Thanks to some sleuthing by Nintendo Life though, it appears that Switch is part of those plans, alongside Xbox and PS4. Multiple job listings on the Riot Games website make reference to Nintendo Switch. A software engineer position has this requirement

Experience shipping cross platform console games (XBox, PS, Switch)

Anyone applying for the software architect position will need:

Experience and understanding with two or more of the following platforms: Microsoft Windows OS (desktop), iOS or Android OS (mobile), XB1, PS4, Nintendo Switch (console).

And finally, there’s a QA lead opening that also asks for:

Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Microsoft Windows OS. (desktop), iOS or Android OS (mobile), XB1, PS4, Nintendo Switch (console)

Whilst this isn’t official confirmation, we reckon it’s a fairly safe bet that League of Legends: Wild Rift will be headed to Switch at some point.

Riot games are focusing on the mobile version first - due by the ‘end of next year’ - with console versions following further down the line. We’re expecting more information next year. You can check out the trailer for the game below.
