No Goose Game Sequel In The Works 'Yet'

Those of us who have been terrorising unsuspecting villagers as a feathered menace the past couple of weeks have been having a great time. So much so in fact, that we just want more of it.

Developer House House has been so hard at work on the hit indie title though, that they haven’t had time to think about a sequel. Speaking to the BBC about the game’s success Nico Disseldorp said the focus for the time being is improving the existing game:

"Right now we're still looking at the next patch for the game to fix a few bugs. It's taken everything we had to get us to this point, so we haven't been in the background concocting a sequel just yet."

The game has been a runaway success though, topping the charts on the Switch’s eShop in the US. We loved it too, calling it ‘an absolute delight’ in our review. We did note that it was a little on the short side though (generating that hunger for a follow up) but Disseldorp isn’t too concerned about the game being finished in a few hours.

"We knew from the beginning that we wanted the player to progress through this village. We knew the kinds of moments and characters we wanted to have. When we got people to our office, we started timing how long it took them to play and they seemed to take about four hours, on average.

It seems now the game is out, some people are playing it faster than that. But when it comes to the games that we play, we don't really worry if it's short or long. I think it's really nice that people can play to the end of this thing without spending their life on it."

The interview also reveals that the game very nearly did have a title: Some Like It Honk. That ‘wasn’t viable’ though apparently, so the team stuck with the ‘Untitled’ moniker that had made the game so popular on social media.

Perhaps the ‘Some Like It Honk’ subtitle could show up in any eventual sequel. Would you be interested in a second Goose Game? Let us know down in the comments.
