Rocket League Changes Coming on 4 December

Last month Psyonix revealed they’d be adding a bunch of free DLC to Rocket League and changing up the way the game’s microtransactions work, amongst other things. We’ve now got a launch date for all these changes: 4 December.
As previously reported, the Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run DLC packs are all being added to the base game for free. Players should be able to access the new cars and items as soon as the update goes live.
The other major change is the abolition of loot boxes. The randomized nature of loot boxes is coming under increasing criticism lately, and so Psyonix are moving to a new system of Blueprints. These Blueprints show you exactly what it is you’ll receive, and how much they’ll cost. You can trade any unwanted Blueprints with other players too, which is a neat touch.
Full information about the update can be found over on the official Rocket League site, but we’re looking forward to seeing how this new system works. On the face of it, it’s definitely much more consumer-friendly, so we’re happy to see Psyonix make this change.
Are you looking forward to the next Rocket League update? Are you happy to see they’re moving away from loot boxes? Let us know down in the comments.
