Nintendo are finally launching the Switch in China later this month, with the console dropping in the country on 10 December.

Nintendo are partnering with Chinese tech firm Tencent to release the console in the territory, with all the relevant approvals from the Chinese government now granted. The launch system appears to come with a digital copy of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe as well, though it’s not 100% whether or not this will be a demo version or the full game so far.

As for other games, whilst there’s nothing else available from Nintendo at launch, pre-orders are available for Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nintendo have also said they’re working with a host of third party publishers, including the likes of Konami, Square Enix, and Bandai Namco to bring more games to the region.

One of the other publishers supporting the system from the get-go is Ubisoft. As well as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Rayman Legends and Just Dance, they’re also bringing a brand new Rabbids party game exclusively to China in the form of Rabbids: Adventure Party.

The Mario Party-esque title is apparently based on Journey To The West, a popular piece of Chinese literature which has informed a number of games over the years, including the decidedly Rayman-like Unruly Heroes.

You can check out some footage of the game in the embedded Tweet below.

It’s positive news for Nintendo that they’re able to expand into such a huge market, but given the stringent processes in place for getting games approved by the government there, it could be a while before they can build up a considerable library.

How about that Rabbids game though? Would you like to see that released in the west? Let us know in the comments below.
