Around 10 New Announcements Planned For The Game Awards

This year’s Game Awards are just around the corner, and we’re expecting a strong showing from Nintendo once again. They’ve been nominated in a number of categories, including Game of the Year for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Outside of all the gongs on offer though, the event usually holds a few surprises and reveals and this year is no exception. During a recent Reddit AMA, producer of the awards Geoff Keighley noted that there’s around 10 new ‘games/projects’ that people don’t know about being announced during the show. When asked what we can expect he replied:

“We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show -- I think there are around 10 new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet. As always the Internet has a lot of really bad information out there about what you think is at the show...but it sure is fun to read :)”

Let us not forget that last year we got the reveal of Smash’s first Fighter’s Pass character in Joker. With one slot still left to fill - and with the game being up for that Game of the Year award - we reckon there’s a good chance that we’ll get a look at who’s following Terry Bogard onto the Smash roster.

The awards take place on 12 December.

Are there any other announcements you’re hoping to hear from the Game Awards next week? Let us know down in the comments.
