Minecraft Crossplay Coming To PS4

Sony may have been a little late to the cross-play party, choosing to sit out whilst Switch and Xbox players were happily playing Rocket League, Fortnite and Minecraft together, but they’ve been softening their stance lately.

Cross play with Fortnite has been rolling across all platforms for a few months now, as has Rocket League and now finally Minecraft is being added to that list. The bedrock edition - that allows for players on different consoles to access the same game world - is being rolled out to PS4 tomorrow.

In a trailer that’s reminiscent of the ‘Better Together’ trailer that first announced crossplay between Switch and Xbox, the Minecraft YouTube channel highlighted the new update. Something about seeing the three brand colours and controllers all featuring together in the same ad just makes us smile.

Check it out below, and let us know if you’re gonna be crafting with some PlayStation playing friends over the holidays!
