Nintendo Considering The Possiblity Of More Official Stores

The Nintendo World store in New York has long been a place of pilgrimage for Nintendo fans, and the big N recently opened another store in Tokyo that has seen huge demand, with long queues out of the store for all that sweet, sweet merch.
In this week’s investor briefing, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has hinted at similar stores opening elsewhere, with Nintendo monitoring fan feedback as they weigh up their options:
“We also intend to analyze consumer reactions and their opinions about the store as we consider the possibility of expanding to additional locations both inside and outside of Japan.”
Needless to say, more official Nintendo stores would be very welcome, especially for those of us who live nowhere near New York or Tokyo. One would think Nintendo wouldn’t have to do too much analysis to recognise the demand.
The pop-up Pokémon store in London last year was absolutely ransacked, with 9 hour queues and loads of stock shortages by the time it came to it’s month-long run. The store is returning for the World Championships later this year, and you’d expect demand to be just as high.
We’d hazard a guess that an official Nintendo London store would be incredibly popular, and there’s undoubtedly plenty of locations across the world where Nintendo fans would love to be able to hand over their hard earned money.
Have you been to either the New York or Tokyo stores? Do you want a Nintendo store near you? Let us know down in the comments!
