Nintendo have announced that they’re lowering the price of Joy-Con permanently in Japan from November.

The discount applies to single Joy-Con only - there’s no reduction announced for the Joy-Con set as yet - with the price dropping from ¥4,928 (¥4,480 plus tax) down to ¥4,114 (¥3,740 plus tax). That puts the price of a single Joy-Con at directly half of a full set ¥8,228 (¥7,480 + tax).

Whether or not we’ll see a similar reduction here in the west remains to be seen, but given the ongoing Joy-Con drift issues, it would certainly be nice to be able to save a few pennies on a replacement.
