Confirmed: Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity Is Getting A Demo
This article was originally written for TheNintendoVillage.com, a website I founded and ran from 2018 to 2021.
Update: A demo has been confirmed in the latest Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. Along with a new trailer for the game highlighting the Divine Beasts, Nintendo confirmed that the demo is available now and that save data will indeed carry over to the full game.
Original Story: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is one of the most anticipated titles for Switch heading into the final couple of months of 2020. Slated for a 20 November release date, we may well get a sneak preview of the game before then.
According to Nintendo Everything, Nintendo’s official Korean website let slipped that a demo for the game will be available on the eShop, with progress transferring to the full copy of the game should you decide to go ahead and pick it up.
There’s also talk of the Divine Beasts, and hints they might even be playable - though that may just be a misleading translation.
The news of the demo has now been removed, though it’s worth noting that Nintendo Korea also apparently let slip that Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light was coming before an official announcement too. Plus, Nintendo have dropped a demo for Pikmin 3 Deluxe ahead of release too, so it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sought to hook people into one of their games before launch this holiday.
We’ll let you know if and when the demo is officially confirmed!
