Minecraft Steve will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate later this month, with the release date for the latest fighter confirmed as 14 October.

During today’s livestream with series director Masahiro Sakurai, the second addition to Fighters Pass Vol. 2 was given an in-depth examination, concluding with the news that the character - along with his Alex, Zombie and Enderman skins - will be available in a little over 10 days time.

Naturally, a Minecraft theme stage also comes with the fighter, which chooses from one of six biomes for each bout. Plus, a total of seven tracks taken from minigames and spin-offs such as Minecraft Dungeons will be included.

You can check out the presentation below. Sakurai and his team have done another impressive job of incorporating key aspects of Steve and Minecraft within the fighter’s moveset. He should make for a really interesting addition to the roster!
