Animal Crossing New Horizons To Feature In-game Purchases

Those familiar with Animal Crossing will be well aware of Tom Nook’s desire to get his grubby little hands on all your cash, and now it appears Nintendo is rather keen to get a few extra bells from players as well.
The official page over on the Nintendo of America site has the ESRB rating ‘Everyone’ for the game. It apparently features ‘comic mischief’, as well as ‘in-game purchases’. What form these in-game purchases take though is unclear.
Whilst the series has dabbled in microtransactions before with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, this could also point to extra DLC - Fire Emblem Three Houses and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate feature the same disclaimer. On the other hand, they game may just prompt you to sign up for Nintendo Switch Online if you try to access some of the Online services, which would presumably trigger the need for this disclaimer from the ESRB.
There’s a little over a month until we’re all running around our islands and will find out anyway. In the meantime, let us know if you’d be happy with some extra DLC for the game down in the comments.
