Bunny Day, In-Game Switch And More Included In Animal Crossing Patch
This article was originally written for TheNintendoVillage.com, a website I founded and ran from 2018 to 2021.
Earlier this week we discovered that Animal Crossing: New Horizons was being updated to Version 1.1.0 ahead of release, with anyone who had pre-installed the game getting the update from today. At the time we weren’t quite sure what was included in the update, but now we know.
As suspected, the patch activates the online multiplayer modes, and also brings with it the Bunny Day event. That will reportedly take place from 1 to 12 April. You will need to be connected to the internet the first time you boot up the game during that period for the event to be activated though.
Besides those things we expected though, there’s also a couple of extra surprises. Players will get their very own Switch which will make the signature ‘click’ noise when you interact with it. If you picked up the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch, you’ll get that version in-game instead of the standard Neon Blue/Neon Red one too. Nice!
A Nook Inc. rug will also be made available to purchase in exchange for a few Nook Miles, provided you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
Speaking of which, the accompanying NookLink app within the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app will also be going live on Friday, allowing you to chat with friends who visit your island, as well as scan QR codes for various designs.
Not long to wait now, though we’ve heard some people have gotten their hands on a copy already! Let us know if you’re one of the lucky ones down in the comments!
