Nintendo Ending Production Of Certain Joy-Con
This article was originally written for TheNintendoVillage.com, a website I founded and ran from 2018 to 2021.
You might be struggling to get your hands on a Switch right now due to Nintendo struggling with stock issues. Fortunately Nintendo have said they’re going to ramp up production, but if there’s a certain set of Joy-Con you’re after you may soon be out of luck.
According to wording on the Nintendo Japan accessories page, the grey, neon yellow, and ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ red Joy-Con are no longer being manufactured. However, all three are still being sold individually, and are selectable in the customisable bundle-builder on the Japanese store.
It’s not particularly clear whether or not it’s only the individual sets that are no longer available, or whether they’ll cease to be purchasable via the other methods once Nintendo runs out of stock.
We’ll let you know if we hear anything more, but if you had your eye on one of those sets, now might be the time to grab them!
Let us know down in the comments if you do!
