The Dream Suite Could Be Coming To Animal Crossing New Horizons

If you played Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS you’ll no doubt be familiar with the dream suite. For those of you new to the franchise, the dream suite allowed you to visit any town you liked by entering a code. You did so ‘in a dream’ so any chaos you brought - chopping trees, destroying flowers etc - had no effect on the town in question so far as the owner was concerned.

It was a cool way for people to share the designs of their towns, without opening them up to random visitors. There’s no such function in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as yet, but dataminer Ninji - who discovered the presence of Leif, Redd and the museum upgrade before that update went live - thinks it could be on the way.

The game has hinted at a “DreamID” in its code since version 1.0.0, and the 1.2.0 update brings with it “ActorNetDreamLand” and a bunch of code which seems to be sending data to Nintendo’s servers. Here’s the rundown from Ninji, courtesy of Nintendo Everything:

This doesn’t guarantee the feature will return of course, though something is definitely progressing.
