Nintendo Want To Create Animal Crossing New Horizons Content For 'Years'

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is packed with content already. Between seasonal events like the recent Bunny Day extravaganza, and more permanent updates like last week’s museum expansion and the addition of Redd and Leif, there’s plenty to keep fans of the game happy.

There are more events planned around real-life celebrations for the rest of the year of course, but the game’s Director Aya Kyogoku has stated in an interview with CNET that she - and presumably Nintendo as a whole - plan to continue supporting the game for years to come. When asked about future updates she had this to say:

“So as far as the actual details and planning of the updates, we're still working on it. We want you to wait for further details to be announced. But I can definitely say that I'm really sure there will be an update and this includes Bunny Day for April. Animal Crossing is a game where you're able to enjoy seasonal changes throughout the year, and it syncs with real time and through that you are able to basically sync your real life with the game. We want to make sure that in two years or three years down the road, players will still continue to find new surprises in the game. So we hope to create an update that you can do that with.”

Kyogoku reiterates in another answer that they want to ensure players “will be able to find new surprises and new gain elements as they play for years down the road”, and are planning updates to allow for that.

Recent datamining has hinted at the return of the Dream Suite, as well as some other features that are currently missing that were present in previous titles in the series such as New Leaf.

What kind of updates are you hoping for? Let us know down in the comments.
