Animal Crossing Characters Hint At Return Of Redd And Brewster

Whilst Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings a wealth of new content and ideas to the franchise, there are a number of characters who have been staples of previous games that are currently missing.

Some of these have just been replaced by other functions. Dr Shrunk is no longer needed to teach you reactions as the villagers themselves do, and there’s no need for Cyrus to customise your furniture for you as you can do it all yourself from a crafting bench. But what about the likes of Crazy Redd and Brewster?

Well the former - an art dealing fox who carries a number of fakes along with the real deal - is arguably the biggest omission to date, given that his genuine art usually makes up a significant portion of the museum. As it stands, the museum in New Horizons only features bugs, fish and fossils, but this interesting bit of dialogue from one villager suggests that art could become a feature:

It’s interesting that Fang mentions enjoying looking at the art in the museum, given that there isn’t any at the moment. So it could well be something Nintendo are planning on implementing via an update soon.

Even more overt is this character’s reference to the café-owning pigeon Brewster:

Not only is he referenced by name, but his name is highlighted too. Dataminers have already found reference to a ‘Museum Café’ in the game’s code, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we’ll be seeing a return of Brewster’s coffee shop in some form or another before too long.

Are you hoping to see either of these characters make a return? Let us know down in the comments.
