We may all be enjoying our deserted islands right now, but if you’ve been feeling that Animal Crossing doesn’t have quite enough crop growing and livestock rearing for your tastes, then Natsume have got you covered.

The developer, in conjunction with Rising Star Games and Nintendo of Europe this side of the Atlantic, have announced Harvest Moon: One World, a brand-new entry in the long-running farming sim franchise due to arrive on Switch later this year.

The game will utilise a brand new engine and new graphics, though all we’ve seen of the game so far is the new logo. The engine and visuals aren’t the only thing that’s new though, with players given a whole wide world to explore in this new entry. Here’s the skinny from the press release:

“Can you imagine a world without tomatoes, strawberries, or even cabbage? In the latest entry in the Harvest Moon series, that’s the situation players will find themselves in. Only an old book gives hints of what once was... Buoyed by a mysterious discovery, players will find themselves setting out on an adventure that spans not only their hometown but the whole world! What kind of people and places await? From the gorgeous beaches of Halo Halo to the snowy mountains of Salmiakki, there’s literally an entire world to explore.”

We’re promised more information about the game in the coming months, so we’ll naturally keep you posted when we hear more. In the meantime, let us know if you’re excited by the prospect of a new Harvest Moon game down in the comments.
