Isle of Armor, the first part of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s two-part Expansion Pass is officially launching on 17 June. Nintendo have dropped a new trailer for the Expansion Pass (which you can check out at the bottom of this post) revealing the release date as well as some of the new and returning Pokémon you can expect to find.
Here’s what you can expect for Isle of Armor:
The first new adventure unlocked by your Expansion Pass will take place on the Isle of Armor, an island of the Galar region.
The Isle of Armor is full of environments not seen in Galar before—you’ll find wave-swept beaches, forests, bogs, caves, and sand dunes!
There are also plenty of Pokémon that make this island their home, living freely amid the lush nature.
The island is home to a dojo for Pokémon battles. You and your Pokémon will train hard to become even stronger under Mustard, the Trainer who is the master of this dojo.
As well as that, the trailer also detailed some of the content lined up for the second part, Crown Tundra, which is due later this year. As noted by Serebii, there seems to be a focus on two new ‘Regi’ legendary Pokémon. Regieleki and Regidrago are electric and dragon types respectively:
There was also another look at Galarian forms of the Gen 1 legendary birds, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno. Their types have also been revealed over on the Japanese website, with Articuno now a Psychic/Flying type, Zapdos a Fighting/Flying type and Moltres a Dark/Flying type.
Players will also be able to take on key characters from the main game in new multi battles as part of a ‘Star Tournament’ that’s headed to Wyndon, as well as team up with three other players to investigate Dynamax raid dens in a new ‘Dynamax Adventure’.
Check out the trailer below and let us know if you’re picking it up!
