Monolift Focused On Building The Xenoblade Brand

Considering it was once considered to niche to even make it to the US, the Xenoblade series has been rather successful for Nintendo and Monolift Soft as of late. The latest release was of course the remastered version of Xenoblade Chronicles, and it seems like Monolift have more plans for the franchise.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Vandal, series creator Tetsuya Takahashi revealed that although he’d like the studio to experiment with some other projects, they’re currently focused on making Xenoblade as big as it can possibly be:
“From the point of view of giving Monolith Soft more variety, I would like to do a smaller-scale project if the opportunity arose, but right now, I think we should focus on increasing the value of the brand that we have created with the Xenoblade Chronicles saga. Of course, if we manage to organize ourselves in a way that allows us to do so, I would also like to give a small-scale project a chance.”
What that means for future games is anyone’s guess. A Xenoblade Chronicles 3 perhaps? Or even some sort of spinoff taking place within the Xenoblade universe.
As Gaming Bolt note, the studio reportedly has three teams on the go right now, working on three separate projects. One of those is working on a new game, while another is likely helping out with development on the sequel to Breath of the Wild.
Let us know what you’d like to see next from Monolift down in the comments!
