You may remember a few weeks back that WayForward’s Matt Bozon hinted at the possibility of a remake of the original Shantae game. Well, as it turns out, the game is getting a straight port to Switch.

Announcing the news on Twitter, WayForward revealed that Shantae’s maiden outing from the GameBoy Color will be released both digitally on Switch, and physically via Limited Run Games:

You asked for it, you got it! The original GBC Shantae will be returning as a reproduction cart from @LimitedRunGames, available to preorder this September! Additionally, the game will be coming to Switch both physically and digitally! pic.twitter.com/AlMc3nga9R

Not only that, but Limited Run themselves also confirmed that there’ll be a, well, limited run of reproduction GameBoy carts for the game alongside the Switch release:
