Yes, you read that title correctly. First Press Games have announced that they’ll be releasing a new action-platform game by the name of POWA! on the Game Boy Color later this year.
Aiming at a November release, the game is inspired by the likes of Kirby’s Dream Land, and is not only coming to the Game Boy Color, but will also be backwards compatible. So if you’ve got an OG Game Boy or Game Boy Pocket lying around somewhere, you can play the game there too. It’s even compatible with the Super Game Boy if you fancy plugging in your SNES.
Developed by Aiguanachein, the game features five stages with a boss fight at the end of each one, an “ever-increasing” difficulty curve as well as different difficulty levels, and a time-score mode.
You can check out a trailer for the game below, as well as pre-order either the regular, collectors or limited edition versions of the game over at First Press Games’ store. Let us know down in the comments if you’re excited to revisit the Game Boy in 2020!
