Killer 7 Could Be Coming To Switch
This article was originally written for TheNintendoVillage.com, a website I founded and ran from 2018 to 2021.
Update: Turns out this was a false alarm. Engine Software's owner and VP of Development, Ruud van de Moosdijk, has reached out to Nintendo Life to clear things up, with the developer apparently only involved in the PC port:
Without saying anything about unannounced projects, the unannounced project I am working on with a prolific Japanese developer, is not Killer 7 for Switch sorry
The banner on LinkedIn should have been changed, as in the end we only did a PC version of Killer 7.
Original Story: If the recent rating is to be believed, No More Heroes could well be headed to Switch at some point. As it turns out though, that might not be the only older game from Suda 51 that’s on the cards
YouTuber Doctre81 has been doing some digging on LinkedIn, and found an Engine Software employee who’s profile makes reference to a Killer 7 Remaster for Switch.
The employee’s profile also mentions that they’re currently a producer on an "unannounced title in collaboration with a prolific Japanese game designer", which could well be Suda 51.
Engine Software themselves have worked with Suda previously, collaborating on the 2018 PC port of none other than Killer 7.
That game was a bit of a cult classic when it released on GameCube and PS2 back in 2005, though Suda has recently said that a port of the game on Switch would essentially be up to Capcom.
Doctre81 also previously unearthed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Switch, long before it was officially announced.
