Switch Development File Found Within Fall Guys Code

We’re sure you’ve heard about Fall Guys by now, the 60-player battle royale party game that’s been taking the scene by storm since releasing on Steam and PS4 a little over a month ago.

Having been limited to those platforms from launch, developer Mediatonic have naturally been inundated with requests for the game to make the jump to other platforms, including Switch. Whilst they say that they’d “love to bring the game to other platforms further down the line”, it turns out they may already be exploring those options.

Dataminer and Twitter user OatmealDome has located a “NintendoSDKPlugin.dll” within the game’s code. For the uninitiated, SDK stands for software development kit, and this plugin would allow for Fall Guys’ Unity project to plug into Nintendo’s official SDK for the Switch.

In order to activate that plugin you’d have to have it licensed to you from Nintendo themselves. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean the game is definitely coming to Switch. Mediatonic have created other games for the system already, so it’s entirely possible they have the plugin and just didn’t turn it off for this project.

Regardless, we’re still keeping our fingers crossed for a Fall Guys Switch port at some point in the future. The game would be a perfect fit for Nintendo’s system.

Let us know down in the comments if it’s one you’d like to see too!
