The first major announcement from today’s Super Mario 35th Anniversary Direct was the news that Super Mario 3D World is making the jump over to Switch from Wii U.

The game will also come with an expansion, giving it the full title of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. Nintendo are being coy about what extra features and functionality are actually being included in the game for now, simply stating in a press release that “additional details about what new things this game has to offer will be revealed later.”

However, we can reveal that the game will feature both online and offline multiplayer modes, and will also arrive alongside the launch of two new amiibo in the form of Cat Mario and Cat Peach.

The game will launch next year, with a release date scheduled for 12 February 2021. In the meantime, check out the trailer and some screenshots below.
