Team Battle Mode Added To Tetris 99

If you struggle to compete on your own in Tetris 99, Nintendo are adding a new mode to give you a bit of a helping hand.
The new Team Battle mode sees you select one of four teams, with each of them battling it out for victory. The last team standing wins, with each team members taking a share of the spoils. In an interesting twist, any team who ends up with fewer members once everyone’s chosen their side will receive a boost in attack power to level the playing field.
The new mode will play a part in the game’s 10th Maximus Cup, running from 12 to 16 December. Here’s the info:
“The Tetris 99 10th MAXIMUS CUP will be available to all Nintendo Switch Online members* and will take full advantage of the new Team Battle Mode. Points will be awarded based on placements during each match, and at the end of the event the top 999 players will each win 999 Gold Points** that can be used to help purchase games in Nintendo eShop.”
Themes from previous Maximus Cups are also being made available to purchase for in-game tickets. So if you missed out on the original Game Boy or Splatoon themes, you’l now be able to add them to your collection.
Are you hoping to bag your first win with this new mode? Let us know down in the comments.
