We love us some SteamWorld games here at Nintendo Village. We never cease to be impressed at the way developer Image & Form are able to turn their hand to multiple genres and consistently create fantastic experiences. Now it seems they’re taking on yet another new challenge.

The Swedish studio have two job listings on their website for a mid/senior programmer and a senior technical artist that both mention 3D - with the former explicitly stating the role is to work on an unannounced 3D project:

We’re now looking for a mid- to senior-level C++ programmer for a full-time job in Gothenburg, Sweden. You’ll be a part of our main team currently working on an unannounced 3D project. It is important that you are experienced, enjoy experimental work and are comfortable switching between many fields of programming.

Within the SteamWorld series we’ve seen Image & Form tackle tower defense, metroidvanias, strategy and most recently in SteamWorld Quest, RPGs. The thought of a 3D SteamWorld adventure being added to that list definitely has us all excited.

Hopefully there’ll be an official announcement about the game before too long!
