Farfetch'd Evolution Sirfetch'd Coming Exclusively To Pokémon Sword

Following a bit of a tease earlier this week, we’ve now gotten a look at a brand new Pokémon coming to Gen 8, and Farfetch’d is finally getting an evolution - and a knighthood apparently!
Sirfetch’d is a Pokémon Sword version exclusive, along with his pre-evolved state, joining Deino, and Jangmo-o and their respective evolutions on that list.
The leek sword wielding fighting type bird has the steadfast ability and, frankly, looks awesome. According to the official Sword and Shield website, Farfetch’d will evolve after experiencing many battles, fighting on until his leek withers at which time he’ll retire.
They are calm and collected, and they make a point of always battling fairly. They are so noble in battle that they are often chosen as a motif for paintings. Of particular note is a painting—famous in the Galar region—that depicts a duel between a Sirfetch'd and an Escavalier.
As well as the bio, the page also details a new move only Sirfetch’d can learn called Meteor Assault. As shown in the trailer, Sirfetch’d “points its leek at the opponent and charges toward them at great speed.” It looks like it does a considerable amount of damage, but there will be a recharge turn needed if you use it in battle.
You can check out the reveal trailer below:
Along with version exclusive monsters, Pokémon Sword and Shield will have exclusive gym leaders too. The ghost-type leader Allister will only appear in Shield, while gym leader Bea, who specialises in fighting type Pokémon, is exclusive to Sword. Perhaps she’ll have a Sirfetch’d in her team?
What do you think of Farfetch’d noble new evolution? Let us know down in the comments!
