Japanese Switch Online Subscribers To Get Fire Emblem Warriors For Free

Some of you may recall last summer that subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online in Japan got access to the full Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker game for free across a ten day period. Unfortunately the promotion never made it across to the West, but Nintendo is nevertheless running a similar promotion again this month, this time for Fire Emblem Warriors.

The rules are the same as before. Players can download the game between 20 January and 26 January completely for free, just as long as they’re subscribed to Nintendo’s online service. Once they do, they’ll have ten days to play through as much of the game as they like, with save data carrying over if they decide to purchase the game at the end of the promotion.

To encourage that, the game will also be on sale at 40% off, along with its DLC, from 20 January to 2 February.

Fingers crossed we’ll see the scheme make its way outside of Japan this time around. We’ll let you know if it does!
