Rogue One Writer Wants A Crack At A Star Fox Movie

The internet is a wonderful place sometimes. Thanks to the medium of Twitter we’ve now got a bizarre triangle featuring God of War, Star Wars and the Star Fox franchise.

God of War artist Raf Gresetti recently shared this (absolutely incredible) artwork of the Star Fox crew on Twitter to much well deserved praise:

Of the many reactions to this brilliant bit of artistry, perhaps the most exciting was from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer Gary Whitta who said he wants to write the animated movie for which the piece could easily be a promotional poster.

Whitta is no stranger to writing videogame characters either, having previously contributed to Gears of War, Prey and Telltale’s The Walking Dead amongst others. He’s also the former editor of PC Gamer, and has The Book of Eli and a few episodes of Star Wars: Rebels to his name on the movie/TV front as well.

The closest we’ve gotten to a Star Fox movie thus far was the animated short Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins which helped launch the divisive Wii U game - the last we’ve seen of the Star Fox franchise outside of the cameo in Starlink: Battle for Atlas.

We’d certainly be down for a full movie, especially with guys of this pedigree at the helm! That said, we’ll more than likely have to chalk this one up to Twitter wonderfulness. We can dream though…
