Stardew Valley Hits 10 Million Sales

Originally released back in 2016 on PC, indie farming sim Stardew Valley has since been ported to a whole host of devices, not least the Nintendo Switch. An ever-present fixture on the eShop’s top seller charts, those Switch fans have helped push the game to a whopping 10 million sales worldwide.

Eric Barone, the game’s creator, took to Twitter to announce the news and thank everyone who’s picked up a digital hoe in his little virtual town:

That’s not a bad performance for an indie game that didn’t exist 5 years ago! Still, given the undeniable quality of the game, maybe we shouldn’t be too surprised. We did say that it “pays homage to the greats of the genre, while simultaneously blowing them out of the water” in our review after all.

Are you still regularly tending to your crops in Stardew Valley? Let us know down in the comments!
